Dutch Village
Erin's 1st grade class took an end of year field trip to Dutch Village this week. Luckily, the rain held off until the drive home. We were able to see how wooden shoes are made, see a replica of an old Dutch farm house, watch the process for making/molding Dutch cheese, and watch the Dutch dancers. Erin determined that the wooden shoe that flew off one of the dancers during the show was part of the act. She had been to Dutch village two years ago with grandma and grandpa and the same thing happened, and the shoe landed in the same spot. After lunch we had a little bit of free time so where did everyone go...the swing! I could hardly stand to watch without feeling dizzy! Before leaving I was all prepared to buy Erin a little trinket to remember the trip, but all she wanted was some jelly beans at the candy store.
