Claire's 2nd grade class
Claire's 2nd grade class has been studying pioneers, and today they visited Fallasburg Park in Lowell which has a historic village dating back to the early 19th century. They held class this morning in the old one room schoolhouse and did assignments popular during that time period. They read a story from an old McGuffy reader and did some reciting. Not exactly exciting stuff, but then again, I can't imagine having to teach a room of different aged children! The girls and most of the boys dressed as pioneer children which was really fun to see. Afterwards we all enjoyed a picnic and some playtime before the kids headed back to school for "real work."
