Great Wolf Lodge

The best picture I could get of Jerry and the girls going down one of the waterslides.
Erin leaping across the lily pads

Jerry, Ben, and Erin on the lazy river

Ben doing what he loves best: basketball

Claire and Erin

Jerry and Claire (far left) getting soaked!

Claire and the sea serpent

Icecream after dinner YUMMY!

The hot tub was the one thing that all five of us enjoyed!

Jerry and I and the kids just got back from 2 days at Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City. We had a fantastic time, and I am so glad that we decided somewhat last minute to take Ben with us. At first we thought it would just be more enjoyable for the girls (and for Jerry and me) to not have Ben along, but he really surprised us and was able to survive for a couple days without a nap and with only a few minor tantrums. We arrived Monday early afternoon and spent quite a bit of time that day at the waterpark. Ben found the water basketball hoops and decided early on that was all he wanted to do. He had NO interest in the waterslides, but he did enjoy the hot tub. Jerry and I took turns standing in the water and retrieving the ball while he would shoot basket after basket from the side of the pool (see picture). He fell in twice and that was the only time he got wet. Whoever wasn't with Ben was able to do the waterslides with the girls. After dinner time we checked out the arcade with the kids, did some crafts, had some icecream, and then Jerry took Ben and Erin back to the room for bedtime. Claire and I stayed out and played video games until about 10:30. I felt like I was 12 years old and had fun doing so. After a great night's sleep (everyone slept until about 8:30) we hit the waterpark again, did some crafts and headed for home early afternoon. I sort of feel like I need to get myself back in the mindset of an adult again after playing like a kid for 2 days.

Hey Lynn - wow, scary almost ER trip. That is why I avoid eating fish ... oh and the fishy taste! :)

We are heading to the Great Wolf this weekend. We are first timers so your pictures are a great way to check it out.

Books ... hmmmm. Here are some titles I've enjoyed recently. Water for Elephants, The Glass Castle, A Girl named Zippy, To Kill a Mockingbird (good re-read),and A Thousand Splendid Suns.

Now for total chick lit and good fun - Sophie Kinsella - Can you keep a secret or Undomestic Goddess. Pretend you are at the beach sipping something cold and fruity while reading these two.

And one more thing (this has to be the longest comment ever made in blog history), how did you scam your hubby into getting up early on a Sat. morning to go down and get tickets for the dance recital with a three year old in tow? Seriously, you are GOOD! :)
