Toothpick Tower

It may not look sturdy, but this thing was STRONG!

1st Place!

Claire's 5th grade class had a Tech Olympics right before spring break.  The students made certain "devices" and competed against each other.  They had to choose to make two of the following:  a marble run (longest time it takes the marble to reach the end is the winner), bottle rocket (highest rocket launch is the winner), 200 toothpick tower (highest tower that can support an egg on the top is the winner), toothpick bridge (make a bridge out of toothpicks that will hold an egg), trajectory (most accurate device that continuously hits the target is the winner), egg drop (if your egg survives, you're a winner!).  Claire chose to do the toothpick tower and the egg drop.  With some  a ton of help from her dad, Claire came in 1st place for her toothpick tower.  She used almost an entire container of wood glue and approximately 183 toothpicks.  She was excited to get an award and 100 auction points to be used in class at their next auction.  Hooray Claire!
