Van Laar Christmas

This past Saturday we celebrated Christmas with my side of the family...my parents, aunt, siblings, nieces,  nephews, etc.  Claire, Erin, and Benjamin love this party because they get lots of attention from older kids who still love to play with them.  My sister hosts each year and does a fantastic job of making her home roomy and comfortable for 26 people.  We ate tons, the kids opened gifts, and then the adults did a $10 gift exchange.  I got a Chenille throw perfect for our new basement.  Anyone who eyed stealing it got daggers thrown at them.  I think I'm exempt from being stolen from ever since my brother stole the Santa cheese bowl/knife set from me 3 years ago.  Let's just say it didn't end well.

Megan happy with her candy stash!

Erin and Aunt Myrtle.  This 7 year old and 85 year old are alike in many ways!

Michael transforming Ben's transformer...and Ben looking into his disc launcher seconds before he launched it into his eye.

Don't remember what's so funny here.  My brother's probably still laughing about stealing that cheese set from me.  Notice however how closely he's guarding his puppy popcorn tin and gift card.
