Goodbyes

Our neighbors across the street just moved and I don't like it.  Claire and Erin and Megan and Ashley have played together probably about  3x a week for the past 3 years.  Their parents Scott and Dianne have become good friends of ours.  The 4 girls love to put on shows and skits.  Their latest production which they worked on for about 2 weeks was a Christmas show with all choreographed dances to various Christmas songs.  I honestly had tears in my eyes as I watched them all kneel down to some plastic baby doll which represented Jesus in the song "Mary Did You Know?"  And it wasn't because I thought their show was so sweet...which it was, but because I know it's not going to be the same anymore.  They'll still see each other at school, we'll still have playdates, but it won't be that spontaneous question of, "Can I go see if Megan and Ashley can play?"   So that is one of the changes that 2011 will bring for our family.  Here's hoping the other changes are a little more sweet.
