Easter

Uncle Darren did his best to keep the kids out of the mud. It didn't work!

Drew got stuck in the mud and just gave up. Poor kiddo!
Claire loved riding Aunt Lisa's old bike complete with banana seat!

This group was headed toward a huge puddle...no one came in dry.
I couldn't get a picture of the neighborhood kids before the egg hunt. Everyone was too excited!

Easter morning before church

We've had a wonderful week leading up to today, Easter. It's been a busy and stressful winter, but this week was a time of relaxing, refueling and remembering Christ's sacrifice and priceless gift to us.

We started the week in Canada where we spent 5 days with Jerry's family. As always, the cousins have such a fantastic time together. Saturday we spent the afternoon at an indoor play park complete with climbing structures, slides, and the like. Benjamin spent close to an hour with his cousins Mason and Justin playing a video game that said "game over" on the screen. They all thought they were moving the controls! Sunday was the only good day to be outside and all the kids spent a large chunk of it riding bikes, playing on "rock mountain" and getting muddy. We left for home on Tuesday hoping the snow we got in Canada wouldn't be in Michigan as well. Lucky for us there wasn't a flake of snow when we arrived home. On Saturday morning we hosted an Easter egg hunt with a bunch of our neighbors. I hid about 200 eggs early Saturday morning and hoped I wouldn't see any little eyes peeking out at me! About 15 kids participated in the hunt, and it was fun to see our neighbors after what feels like a winter hibernation. Today we went to church and spent the day with my parents. It's finally starting to feel like spring, and we spent quite a bit of time outside. Tomorrow it's back to the routine of school, work, and all those other commitments which I enjoyed digressing from this week!
