This Week

Erin prepares for the Walk-a-Thon. I brought the stroller knowing that if Erin gets hot or tired, she'll collapse and refuse to go any further.
Erin and her buddy Megan walking around the school. The route was a 3 lap path on our school grounds. After our first lap Erin spotted the popsicles and we were done.

Heading out on the tractor in search of Gala apples!

I'm really enjoying life these days with the schedule that my kids have. I'm definitely more able to stay on top of things like laundry, cleaning, and paperwork that go by the wayside especially during the summer. This week we enjoyed gorgeous weather for two outside events: our school fundraiser and Erin's field trip to the apple orchard. This was the first year our school did a Walk-a-Thon where people pledge money to the school and the kids walk. It was a little hard to explain the concept to the girls, and I'm not so sure that I think it's such a great idea for a fundraiser, but our school did raise just shy of $30,000! Friday I accompanied Erin's kindergarten class to Klackle. The bus ride there and back took longer than our actual time at the orchard, but the kids still had a lot of fun picking apples. And in case you don't know, the proper way to pick an apple is twist and pull!
