My girls thought we went to Mexico last night for dinner. Maybe I wasn't quite clear about where we were going. All they knew was that we were going to see our friends who live in Mexico. As I reached the Coopersville exit Erin piped up from the back seat, "Are we in Mexico?" Instead, our 30 minute trip took us to the town of Lamont. That's because we visited some missionary friends of ours who are home on vacation for a few weeks before heading back to Guadalajara. We drove out to Lamont, not quite Mexico, where Ben's parents live and Ben's dad is the pastor of the CRC church there. Ben and Amy work for CRWM and have been in Guadalajara for the last 3 years where they have been church planting. We had a fantastic time visiting. The kids had a blast. Claire loved Ben's dad's mammoth garden and hanging out with Ben and Amy's daughter Grace. Favorite quote of the night occurred on the way home when Claire said, "I wish we lived in Mexico because Grace is super nice and she's my best friend." Erin's reply was, "That boy who was there who's five, he's my best friend."
