Getting ready to take Dakota out of her stall

Erin and her new BFF
One of the highlights of Erin's summer was attending a horse camp along with some of her friends at this place. It was a week long day camp where the students are taught how to ride and basic veterinary care. They also had to take care of the feeding and cleaning of the stalls of each animal. At the end of the week the students put on a show, and I was quite amazed at how comfortable Erin was with her horse Dakota. She's always been a bit of an "animal whisperer", but I really sensed that her horse liked her. Erin led her out of her stall and into the riding area. She was able to mount her without assistance and steer her around the ring going from a walk to a trot. It was a fun week!
