Thanksgiving feast

Claire and her fellow 2nd graders as Native Americans
Claire is very much like I was in school and gravitates toward outgoing friends. This is her new BFF Meg who is the polar opposite of Claire.

Performing a Native American poem.

Erin...she just got done collecting the eggs and milking Bessie the cow.

Today Claire had a Thanksgiving feast at school. The 2nd graders have been studying Native Americans so they dressed for the part, and the 1st grade also attended as Pilgrims. The classes did a short program which included Jesus Loves Me in Navajo and some other poems and songs. In typical Claire fashion, she pretty much remained solemn and serious through the whole event. The couple times that she cracked a smile or laughed she would turn her head from me so I couldn't snap that perfect picture I was looking for. Oh well....

On another note, Erin discovered the dress that I wore as a flower girl back in 1978. She decided Sunday night that she wanted to wear it to school, and before I knew what was happening I agreed. I emailed her teacher early this morning just to give her a heads up. She wore a shirt underneath it because it is a sleeveless dress. Even though it only dates back to '78 it looks to me like Laura Ingalls might have worn it back in Walnut Grove.

Erin cracks me up... I like a girl who doesn't have a care in the world!
I was expecting a more 80's style dress with flashy shiney material...I wasn't expecting Half Pint :)
