Ben + Sledding = Ouch!

Jerry took the kids sledding this afternoon, and Ben insisted on going down the hill by himself on a sled. Jerry said the second he took off like a rocket he knew that trouble was about to occur. There is a large straw bale at the end of the sledding run to stop sledders from hitting a tree, and Ben went full force into it with his face. Normally I think of straw as being soft, but as you can tell by Ben's face it isn't. Pokey would be my word of choice for straw. Ben has numerous cuts all over the left side of his face from being poked! When I asked him where he got his ouwee he told me, "I hit my nose on the hay." His nose, of course, doesn't have a scratch. Poor little guy! He didn't even cry that much. Jerry and I felt so bad for him that we let him have his favorite snack of all time.....eating peanut butter directly from the jar with a knife.

Poor little man.... that straw, I don't know why anyone would say it's soft. That looks like it hurts! Is he ever going to want to sled again?

Ouch! Hope you don't get any rude comments in the grocery store.

Aww poor little man. Thank goodness for the bale of straw though. Give him hugs and kisses from Aunt Marcy.
