Stylin'

This weekend I enjoyed a shopping excursion with my mother-in-law and three sister-in-laws to Birch Run. We've made this into a yearly event where we meet on the Friday night, stay in a questionable hotel, and then shop 'til we drop on Saturday. At this point my Canadian relatives rip all the tags off the items they bought and attempt to wear everything home in order to avoid paying duty at the border. What they don't wear or hide they send home with me, and then Jerry about has a heart attack as I unload the car. So as you can tell from the picture, my sister-in-laws Marcy and Lisa both bought similar shoes and decided to wear them home but not bother to lose the white athletic socks they had been wearing all day. If you ask me, however, that is my signature look. I cannot stand to be barefoot, so I wear socks with sandals all the time. This is usually just around the house or out to get the mail or in a slightly shady hotel room. Sad to say, that was the only picture I took of our marathon 24 hour shopping event. I think we were all successful in our shopping, although Jerry's definition of "successful" shopping would be quite different from mine. Even if I didn't buy one thing, it's always a great time to hang out with my mother-in-law and sister-in-laws without any of our children for a whole 24 hours! My last stop before heading home was to the Pottery Barn outlet where I snatched up three kids' duvet covers in the hope of selling them on eBay to at least partially fund my trip. Thank you, Brenda, for looking up countless styles of Pottery Barn bedding while on the phone with me!
